Absolutely. All Hailo vehicles accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express and you can add your card details in the Accounts section of the app. Then, all you have to do is jump in and out of your car - we’ll even email you a receipt.
Minimum fares are designed to increase the chances of you getting a car when you need one most. This means that if the fare plus tip for your journey is less than the minimum fare, you will need to pay the difference so that the total amount you pay to the driver is equal to the minimum fare. Of course if your fare plus tip is more than the minimum, you won't pay a penny more. The table below shows the minimum fare structure. Our drivers do not charge a ‘Run In Fee’ (in other words, they don’t start the meter en route to picking you up) and once they reach the pick up location, and have let you know they are there, they will wait for two and a half minutes before starting the meter - and you won’t find that from a car you hail from the street.
Yes, Hailo does work on an iPad. However, you do need a phone number to register for the service so if you are booking on an iPad we advise you to keep your phone close by when using Hailo, just in case your driver needs to call you, or you need to contact the driver.
Of course you can. In fact, we offer very competitive fixed prices to all of London’s major airports. To get a fixed price, tap Pick Me Up Here > Get a Quote, select the airplane icon and choose your destination.
No. Hailo works with the GPS in your smartphone, so the only way to get a Hailo car to come to you is by using the app - it’s just takes two taps.
In London, Hailo cabs look like any other iconic black cab (plus some are the latest Mercedes Vito 6-seaters). Make sure you look out for a few that we have had dressed up in our bright yellow colours, too.
Why not try out Hailo for Business, our new offering to London’s business community. Find out more here.
You can add up to four credit or debit cards on an account and tag each one for personal or business use. Plus each individual journey can be tagged business or personal in your Job History. If you want two or more completely separate accounts you will need to register with a different mobile number and email address to your existing account.
Yes you can. This is a particularly good feature for businesses who want multiple employees to charge the same business credit or debit card (the card details are not displayed in the app). Each Hailo account will take up to four cards, each card can be tagged for business or personal use and you’ll get one one bill from your card provider at the end of the month.
Yes you can. Just position the blue man on the app at your friend’s location. But remember, make sure your friend has the name and registration number of the driver who is picking them up. It’s also a good idea to call the driver to let them know the arrangement and give them your friend’s phone number.
